About Us

Thanks for visiting our portfolio site. We hope you like what you see. A little about us:

• We are a husband and wife photography team that specializes in special event and wedding photography and we're based in Charleston, South Carolina, the #2 wedding destination in the country.

• We have been told that we are very easy to work with, no egos, and lots of fun. All our couples have become our friends so that may tell you what it's like to work with us. You can check out our RAVES page to see what some of our folks have said or if you want references, just give me the name of one or more of our past couples and we'll put you in contact with them. Bottom line is we love what we do and we love people!

• We also own and operate a graphic design studio, entering our 11th year in business. So we do design and photography full time. This isn't a weekend gig for us. What does that matter you ask? Fast turn-around, that's what. We don't have a job to go to on Mondays. It's all you baby! We only book one wedding per weekend to give you our undivided attention.

• We're relaxed, laid back and unobtrusive. I'll fool around to try and get a laugh out of you during the few posed shots during the day. I'm pretty good at it too. We understand this is your day and we don't try and be the event. We'll come in close for a shot here or there and then disappear into the shadows again. You and your family are our guests so in the middle of the reception, if Uncle Bob wants a photo of him and his old pal who is in attendance, we'll be happy to oblige. Just as long as you aren't cutting the cake or throwing your bouquet at the girls at that moment.

• We have lived in beautiful Charleston since 2006, moving here from our home state of California via Arizona. Our daughter's grandparents live in South Carolina, so we moved her closer to them. Plus we were tired of living more on the California freeway system than in our own home.

How we shoot:

We stay out of the way. We know you plan on a certain mood for your wedding day and people running around with cameras shouldn't ruin that ambiance. We stay as far from the action as possible so your guests see only the magic you want them to see. Don't worry, we have big long lenses to get the shots without being in your face all day. We don't use flash during the ceremony.

We shoot the complete story of your day. This means we are there in the morning when you are getting ready and will be with you until you ride off into the sunset when the party is finally over. I don't have time limits.

Our approach is photojournalism photography but we still shoot formal group photos after the ceremony if you want them. We get these shots completed as quickly as possible so you can rejoin family and friends at the reception.

We create a slide show of the best shots from the day and place the slide show online within 4 or 5 days of the ceremony. We'll leave it online for 4 months. Send the link to anyone who missed the event.
